What: A place for teens, ages 13-18, to have fun, make friends, learn and be accepted, with a special invitation to GLBTQ youth and allies. Teens help choose and plan activities such as bowling, picnics, movies and other social events. CMU student mentors are available to STRUTS youth for social and academic support, including help with college admission materials. Why: Being a teen can be stressful and confusing. Being a Gay, Lesbian, Bi-attractional, Transgendered or Questioning teen can be even more difficult. GLBTQ teens might not feel safe or accepted at school, or may just need a safe adult or friend to talk to. We want to help, whether that’s talking, educating or just being there to listen.
